Subject: UN vs. Serbs

I hail from a somewhat war-like bunch of tribes, and my original German name Ludwig translates as something like “valiant in battle”. Perhaps this subtly colours my perceptions. But let me nonetheless suggest that the United Nations clearly signalled its intentions - or lack thereof - to the Serbs when it dispatched a UK chieftain called Coward to Bosnia to manage its operations - or lack thereof - in that hapless region’s harassed “safe havens”. After the futile exercises in Somalia and Bosnia, Australians perhaps might now consider diverting at least part of their effort and funding for UN “peace-keeping” to, say, organisations such as Greenpeace, who at least have the courage of their convictions.
Sincerely,
