May I humbly suggest to Messrs. Arafat and Barak to consider a scientific approach to reconciliation and co-existence in the former Ottoman province? Let them have DNA tests administered to their respective populations - and those whose mitochondrial patterns match, however tenuously, will be invited to once again share the ancient lands (under whatever name they may agree on). Any genetic 'outsiders' may then apply for residency, subject to any conditions by the common administration, or otherwise rejoin other, closer relations... And while pigs are still flying, let's banish the Minotaurus of religion from raising its ugly head in public. 'Ecrasez l'infame', said Voltaire of one such monster - it's about time, too!
