Media maggott loves Latham

I STILL have a lot of time for Latham, and it is a great pity that he was short-circuited into - political oblivion? Shades of Stott-Despoja, but for the lady being a tad more determined...

As a former 'media maggot', I love his style of invective, it is often drawing blood where it hurts. His assessment of Labor machinations doesn't surprise me: I've had Labor stalwarts bragg to me about how they broke into branch ballot boxes to 'fix' preselection contests in Balmain, for instance...

Mark Latham had PASSION, something sorely lacking in the sad, slanted-mouthed Labor pollies we see these days, and he had the courage to hobble some ideological hoppy horses and lead some sacred cows towards potential slaughter-houses.

I agree with his assessment of Uncle Kim (I must check my libel insurance before I go too much further here): some 15 years ago the ringleader of a Eastern Suburbs PR mob gushed about how this big fat loaf of sliced white bread was the best thing that happened to Australia and would definitely be the next Prime Minister... I disagreed with her then, and I still thing that the guys is a total waste of space...

Vale Mark Latham! As the pilosopher said: it's better to look after your garden...

Cheers!
