Snakes alive! revisited...

Almost as soon as I have relearned to waddle around again for short distances, I nearly stepped on my beautiful red-bellied black snake Blackie today, barefoot, right outside my so-called office. She looked at me somewhat suspiciously from underneath the red kangaroo paws (see bottom pic) only about two metres from the sliding doors...

By the looks of her, she's fully recovered from her ordeal last (southern) autumn, when she was caught in the bird netting around a small fig tree just outside the 'office'.

This is the black Genoa fig tree Bianca and I transplanted with great effort last year to a more suitable spot, and it, too, has survived its ordeal... It is putting on its leaves later than the big white Genoa fighting for space with a young mango tree, which is why I said I'd prefer wathing its leaves grow to pondering politics...

The fig tree's branches may just be visible in front of the big fronds of the Canary Islands palm in the background, but then, they may not be. In any case, the scene as seen from my computer is absolutely idyllic!

Atè ja! (when I try to place the accent with the ALT + 0224 combo, I seem to loose the page...)
