We had a rather quiet, hot and peaceful day at Clod 9, noon temps in the early 30s (32.3 C in fact), the hens lazed about under the small mulberry tree or the huge macadamia when Bianca called me inside:
We still have that half-bottle of Jacob's Creek Reserve 2017, she reminded me, and requested I fill her a glass rather promptly...
So I did, and also filled mine, when the thought struck me - here's the answer as we approach the 90s (me) or 80s (Biche)!
We should only drink sparkling wine from now on! So, I placed an online order for 2 bottles of JC ($26) and two of Henkell Trocken ($26), just for comparison...
We'll pick them up at the local BWS store in Forster when next in town.
Oddly enough, BWS had our old pre-NBN landline number on record and refused to let me change it. I wonder why?
Now, if I wanted to part with a mobile number, go right ahead... No but no thanks!
PS: I've since ordered a dozen of choice Australian sparkling wines from NakedWines.com.au (plus a case of mixed red and whites just in case), and they'll lob in on Thursday.
Until then...
They did of course come on time, a mix of corked and capped bubblies, with prices ranging from $11 to $28, from memory. The latter (LTD) was a reasonable drink, on a par - we thought - with Cristina's Mumm Cordon Rouge...
Please keep this quiet and don't tell the kids: I bought two bottles of Molly's Cradle NV Brut de Bruts from Woollies and after drinking the first bottle decided to stick with Jacobs Creek Reserve instead...
So yesterday (7/2/19) I blithely ordered two DOZEN bottles online at $13 each, with free shipping!
Hope to get them by Monday week...carioca@internode.on.net
