PayPal's got a new trick up its sleeve...

...see if you get trapped 😎

PayPal asked me to confirm my mobile number - that's odd, because I never gave them my number...

CORRECTION
Of course I gave them my number when PP asked me to secure my account! But I never agreed to have a PP mobile CALL my number with whatever messages it wanted to impart!
END CORRECTION

So of course I declined: but the message never disappeared! You could select 'Cancel' but the PP mobile number remained in memory, ready to jump back at you when you didn't expect it...

It took THREE days for me to get rid of this marketing nonsense...

You're sailing close to the wind here, PP!

I don't need you, I can do without Amazon or Ebay or whatever... But if you make my life more difficult to score a few marketing opportunities, I'll do without 😎

There ARE still some honest enterprises about that will deal directly with a customer, as I noticed the other day when I bought a new FLIRC case and Raspberry Pi 3+ board.

Good on you, guys!

Postscript: this seems to be a newfangled marketing ploy by financial institutions - Westpac just tried the same with me for three days running 😎

They had sent a few confirmation codes to my mobile while resetting my online access, and I was asked to add the Westpac mobile number to my contacts, with all this entailed...

The choice was Save to Contacts or Cancel. I'm still cancelling three days later LOL
