I list the numbers related to my set-up here for my own information, so as to have them handy: Coolmatic #1220 and #101N0220
There is no visible number on the evaporator. The RAPS is listed as 12R-42.
The reason I had asked Dometic for help is that I recently replaced the Morningstar Digital Remote Meter control unit and SunSaver Duo dual-battery charging controller that switches my WAECO on and off as required and cuts out when the battery level falls below a certain charge.
Luckily, I DID find the original German manual as well as a number of scribbled notes among my papers, so I followed that stuff as well as I could, interpolating where necessary.
Switched on the machinery - and bingo, compressor AND evaporator started up properly!
To celebrate, I'm off to have a glass of Paulazzo Pinot Grigio... Don't tell Bianca: she's counting LOL
PS: The Waeco setup alone did not manage to achieve reasonable temperatures this hot spring, so I researched portable air conditioners and came up with a 15,000 btu Arlec unit. I plopped it in the wine cellar, switched it on and bingo, the dialled temp of 18 C came gradually into reach.
But then, dammit, the temperature suddenly roared up to 25+ C and I kicked myself for my misunderstanding: the compressor needed to exhaust its heat - to the outside!
I worked much of the morning yesterday to cut a suitably contoured hole into the Hebel block wall, affixed the exhaust tube and hoppla, the shed roared with a prolonged gust of hot air!
I switched the unit off overnight, seeing I was worried about the battery connections to the now idle Waeco, fixed these this morning and switched on the A/C again. Now the wine cellar is ranging between 18.3 and 18.8 C, with the unit switching on and off as required. Just in time for the case of 15 super new whites I picked up on Monday...
